At the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi on Sunday, a fervent crowd grooved to the upbeat folk dance steps and the heartfelt performance of qawwalis by the nation’s well-known performers.
Regional traditional dance was performed for the audience by artists from the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), including Abdul Ghani, Adnan Butt, Mani Chao, Farrukh Darbar, Master Ghulam Hussain, and Ravi Jhoomar.
Following the dancing performance, the audience was taken to a realm of spirituality by maestro qawwals Fareed Fayyaz and Abu Muhammad, with their own flair.
Three events took place at the festival one day earlier: a play, an exhibition, and a concert.
“The Legacy, Vision of the Old Masters & Contemporary Painters of Pakistan” was the title of the art exhibition that opened the day.
