Following a gathering with Kyiv’s allies on Thursday, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that 26 countries have committed to giving Ukraine postwar security guarantees, including an international force on land, at sea, and in the air.
Macron stated that US payments to the guarantees would be finalized in the next few days and that he, other European leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy spoke with US President Donald Trump over the phone following their conference.
35 leaders from the “coalition of the willing,” which is primarily composed of European nations, met with the goal of finalizing security guarantees and requesting Trump’s support, which Europeans believe is essential to their viability.
