During the first two months (July and August) of the fiscal year 2025–26, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stated that income tax collection from the salaried class increased to Rs85 billion, representing a 21% rise over the same period the previous year.
Under this heading, Rs70 billion was collected in July and August of the previous fiscal year, representing a Rs15 billion increase over the previous year.
Official data shows that corporate employees paid Rs20 billion in income tax, while non-corporate employees contributed Rs41 billion.
During that time, federal government employees paid Rs7.6 billion, while provincial government employees contributed Rs10.5 billion.
