ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership honored the nation’s martyrs, ghazis, and the tenacious citizens whose bravery and sacrifices uphold the country’s freedom and sovereignty on the 60th Defence and Martyrs’ Day.
A 31-gun salute was fired in the federal capital to start the day, which fell on the auspicious day of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
The nation’s heroes were honored by Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.
Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) stated in its statement that September 6 embodies the Pakistani people’s unwavering determination and unbreakable character.
