Elijah Blue Allman, the son of Cher, was unable to have his divorce from Marieangela King invalidated.
After eight years of marriage, Elijah initially filed for divorce from Marienagela in 2021, requesting a dismissal “without prejudice,” according paperwork that PEOPLE was able to obtain.
A Los Angeles County judge rejected his request on January 11th, according to court records that the outlet was able to get. The 47-year-old’s plea was turned down, according to the document, because of a “temporary support stipulation” that is still in effect.
Days before Elijah was scheduled to appear in court for a conservatorship hearing that Cher had started, the decision was made.
The singer, who is 77 years old, stated that her son is “substantially unable to manage his financial resources” in an attempt to become the only conservator of his property.
The singer stated that she “needs to protect his property from loss or injury” immediately, even though Elijah was supposed to receive assets from his trust before the end of 2023.
The Believe hitmaker further disregarded his divorced wife as a possible conservator, citing “a cycle of drug addiction and mental health crisis” as hallmarks of their turbulent relationship.
