Zubeen Garg, an Assamese singer, passed away following a terrible scuba diving incident.
Singing Bollywood classics like Ya Ali and Dil Tu Hi Bataa, Zubeen passed away in Singapore at the age of 52 while on an unplanned scuba diving excursion.
In a statement, Garg’s event manager in Singapore, Shyamkanu Mahanta & Team, disclosed that he was taken scuba diving on a yacht by several members of the Assamese community. He added that neither he nor the team knew about the excursion and only learned about it after an accident.
We regret to inform you of the tragic death of our dear icon, Zubeen Garg, who died away at Singapore General Hospital today at approximately 2:30 PM. The day before yesterday, Zubeen had landed in Singapore.
