The 77-year-old vocalist of Rocketman also acknowledged that his young kids are concerned about his advanced age.
A special gala showing of Elton John: Never Too Late, which traces his decades-long career, took place at the Royal Festival Hall on Thursday as part of the London Film Festival (LFF).
The project, which was directed by Sir Elton’s husband, David Furnish, and US director RJ Cutler, features never-before-seen video and interviews with the late John Lennon, Dua Lipa, and the artist’s longtime songwriting partner, Bernie Taupin.
Last year, Sir Elton concluded his touring career with his Farewell Yellow Brick.
Throughout the years, he has had knee and hip replacements, prostate cancer surgery, and most recently, a severe eye infection that left him with reduced vision in one eye.
The movie features footage of him getting ready for his last North American gig at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, where he had played two sold-out sets in 1975.
