LAHORE: Following changes to their portfolios, prominent officials Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick have decided to resign from their jobs, dealing another damage to the Pakistan men’s cricket squad.

Following a change in their portfolios in November 2023, Puttick, Bradburn, and Arthur were given responsibilities at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. Since then, they have all resigned from their respective roles.

Bradburn was named head coach of the Pakistan national men’s team earlier this year, while Arthur was named director of the country’s men’s cricket squad in April 2023.

Puttick, a former cricket player for South Africa, has been Pakistan’s batting coach since April 2023.

Before his most recent position, Arthur was the head coach of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019. During that time, the team won the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy and rose to the top of the ICC Test team rankings.

Arthur has also coached Sri Lanka, Australia, and South Africa in international cricket.

The 57-year-old Bradburn, who had previously played 18 international matches for New Zealand between 1990 and 2001, was the men’s team fielding coach for Pakistan from 2018 to 2020 before assuming the position of Head of High-Performance Coaching at NCA through October 2021.

Pakistan rose to the top of the ICC ODI team rankings during his time as head coach.

By the end of January 2024, all three people had notified the Pakistan Cricket Board of their intention to resign from their positions.

All parties involved reached an amicable agreement together. According to an official statement, the PCB is appreciative of their efforts and wishes them luck in their future endeavors.
