LAHORE: Pakistan’s cricket board sent opener Fakhar Zaman a show-cause notice on Sunday night in response to his social media post endorsing Babar Azam, who was left out of the team for the forthcoming second and third Test match against England.
Suspensions about the final decision were rampant hours before Babar was removed off the team by the newly reorganized selection committee. Fakhar had taken to social media platform ‘X’ to voice concerns that Babar’s absence “could send a deeply negative message across the team.”
The colorful batter posted on Saturday, saying, “It is alarming to hear suggestions about dropping Babar Azam.”
“During Virat Kohli’s tough patch from 2020 to 2023, when he averaged 19.33, 28.21, and 26.50, respectively, India did not bench him.
