The conflict in Ukraine shows no signs of abating in the upcoming months or years. This is true even though US President Donald Trump has urged Vladimir Putin, his Russian counterpart, to reach a reconciliation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
President Trump has called on NATO nations to stop purchasing Russian oil and to levy a 50–100% tax on China for purchasing petrochemicals from Moscow in an effort to choke off the Russian economy.
During his address to the UN General Assembly, President Trump said, “China and India are the main funders of the ongoing war by continuing to purchase Russian oil, but inexcusably, even NATO countries have not cut off much Russian energy and Russian energy products.”
