Sugar imports notwithstanding, prices in different cities barely decreased.
Sugar sells cost between Rs195 and Rs200 per kilogram in some places, such as Peshawar. Last week, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) recorded a little drop of just Rs0.5 per kilogram.
Prices for sugar last week varied from Rs177 to Rs200 per kilogram in various cities across the country, with an average of Rs184 per kilogram. The total price decreased by only five paisa per kilogram throughout the course of the week. Prices did not significantly decline as a result of the import of sugar.
Sugar prices remained high in Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Prices peaked at Rs 200 per kilogram in Peshawar and Rs 195 per kilogram in Karachi.
