INDORE: In a Women’s World Cup match on Monday, South Africa defeated New Zealand by six wickets, spoiling Suzie Bates’s record 350th appearance for her country. Tazmin Brits scored an incredible century.
At Holkar Stadium in Indore, Brits helped South Africa chase a 232-run goal in 40.5 overs with a century off 89 balls, 15 boundaries, and a six. It was her fourth century in five ODIs.
New Zealand was bowled out for 231 in 47.5 overs by left-arm spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba, who claimed 4-40. Pacer Marizanne Kapp had removed Bates off the opening delivery of the game.
During her illustrious career, Bates, 38, became the first woman to play 350 international matches, including 173 ODIs and 177 T20Is.
