Soon after the floodlights were turned on during the Pakistan vs. India ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup match in Colombo, a strange scenario occurred when a swarm of insects invaded the ground.
On Sunday, the players were visibly uncomfortable due to the unexpected attack by microscopic bugs. After speaking with the umpire, Pakistani bowler Nashra Sandhu first attempted to repel them with a towel, but the issue remained.
Pakistan’s backup players rushed onto the field with bug repellant sprays as the infestation grew worse.
Although the flies would not go away, captain Fatima Sana started spraying her teammates, and substitute Iman Fatima even sprayed a teammate’s cap.
