ISLAMABAD: Mushtaq Ahmad Khan, a former senator, has resigned from Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).
During his appearance on Thursday’s “Capital Talk” show on Geo News, Ahmad affirmed the decision. Ahmad publicly resigned from the party, saying he did so on September 19 while on board the Global Samud Flotilla, in an interview with host and senior journalist Hamid Mir.
He did, however, point out that he has not heard back from the party on his resignation as of yet.
The former senator gave an explanation for his choice, stating that organizations have their own limits and that occasionally one needs the freedom to work on their own.
