The Nobel Prize committee’s choice to award the peace prize to a Venezuelan opposition leader rather than US President Donald Trump, who vigorously campaigned for the honor and praised his involvement in negotiating international ceasefire agreements, was criticized by the White House on Friday.
“President Trump will keep negotiating peace agreements, putting an end to conflicts, and saving lives. In a post on X, White House spokesperson Steven Cheung stated, “He has the heart of a humanitarian, and there will never be anyone like him who can move mountains with the sheer force of his will.”
