According to reports, Jodie Foster believes it was a good decision for her to decline the Princess Leia part in Star Wars.
The famous actress and filmmaker made a guest appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.
The 61-year-old actress mentioned the parts she declined over her career in her chat with the show host.
One of these roles—which Jodie was first offered—was the notorious Princess Leia from Star Wars.
“You’ve [played] so many iconic roles, we love what you do,” Jimmy questioned the former Maverick. However, I read online that you were considered for the Princess Leia role in Star Wars. Is that accurate?
“Yeah, I was,” was her simple response.
The actress revealed her main reason for turning down the role, saying, “They were going for a younger Princess Leia but I had a conflict.” I simply didn’t want to back out of the Disney film I was doing because I had a contract already.
“So, I didn’t do it and you know, they did an amazing job,” she added in response.
“I have no idea how successful I could have been. You know, I might have had a different hairstyle. Jodie laughed and signed off, “I might have gone with a pineapple.”
