During a grand White House welcome on Tuesday, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) announced that Saudi Arabia will increase its US investments to nearly $1 trillion, up from the $600 billion pledged earlier this year.
US President Donald Trump praised the crown prince, calling him “incredible in terms of human rights,” as the two leaders held discussions in the Oval Office. The event featured a lavish military display, including soldiers on horseback and a flypast of F-35 jets — which Trump confirmed Washington will sell to Riyadh.
The meeting highlighted Trump’s efforts to strengthen ties with Saudi Arabia, focusing on regional peace initiatives, including advancing the Abraham Accords and encouraging normalized relations with Israel, while ensuring a clear path for a two-state solution for Palestinians.
In addition, Trump is set to sign a civil nuclear cooperation framework with Saudi Arabia. The day also featured a Rose Garden gallery tour and a gala dinner hosted by First Lady Melania Trump, with Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo attending.
MBS, 40, has maintained a close relationship with Trump and his family, reinforcing economic and strategic cooperation between the US and the oil-rich Gulf kingdom.
