The South Bangkok Civil Court issued the warrant following accusations by a plastic surgeon, who claims Jakrajutatip misled him into investing in her company, JKN Global Group, in 2023. The court alleges that Jakrajutatip was aware she could not repay the funds on time.
Jakrajutatip did not appear at the verdict session on Tuesday, leading the court to suspect a possible attempt to evade justice. The verdict has now been postponed to December 26. Local reports suggest she may have traveled to Mexico amid speculation about financial difficulties.
This legal issue comes on the heels of the Miss Universe 2025 pageant in Bangkok, which faced controversy when host Fatima Bosch of Mexico was publicly scolded by a male presenter, prompting her walkout. The incident drew praise from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for Bosch’s courage.
JKN Global Group acquired the Miss Universe Organization for $20 million in 2022 and later sold half its stake to Mexico-based Legacy Holding Group USA for $16 million. The company has faced ongoing scrutiny, including a 2024 delisting from the Stock Exchange of Thailand due to falsified financial statements.
The Miss Universe Organization has emphasized that Jakrajutatip’s legal issues are separate from its ongoing operations.
