Following a shooting at a residence in Tinley Park that left at least four women dead, authorities claimed on Sunday that they had arrested a male suspect and found a weapon.

When the authorities arrived in the 7400 block of West 173rd Street at approximately 11:20 a.m., they discovered four dead that had been shot.

“A male called 911 saying someone was shot in the residence, and when police arrived they found the four gunshot victims dead on the scene,” said Village Manager Pat Carr, as reported by CBS News.

The Village Manager stated that a domestic incident led to the shooting.

He continued, saying, “We know that this was limited to this particular home and that the [individual] was brought into custody there. Everything is safe here.

We are certain that there is no threat to the local people at large, and there is now only one suspect.”

There is no threat to the public, according to local officials.

When the residents learned of the incident, they became uneasy.

According to homeowner Charlotte Vaitkus, “My daughter knows them,” ABC7 reported.

“She worked with the twin sisters and attended school with the oldest boy. She frequently mentioned how clever and aspirational each of them was in life.”

While the authorities processed the scene, they had not yet disclosed the victims’ identities.

A neighbor who was cited by the local media claimed that a family of seven lived in the house:

a husband and wife, along with their three grown children and two adult sons.

“That was Lane Bryant,” stated Carr.

“I was also president at the time. For many of us who have been here, it brings back a lot of unpleasant memories, but we can assure everyone that this is unique to this instance. There is no public threat and the setting is secure.
