Alec Baldwin and his spouse Hilaria Baldwin find the latest allegations on the shooting incident in Rust to be “frustrating.”
Following a grand injury in New Mexico that resulted in the 65-year-old actor-producer being charged with involuntary manslaughter, an insider came out to PEOPLE.
The case began when Alec was aiming a gun at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in October 2021 when the film was being filmed. The gun went fire, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
He claimed at the time that he had pulled back the gun’s hammer before it fired, not the trigger.
The publication was informed by a source that they had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Hilaria just turned forty as well. They had not intended to begin this way.
“It’s stressful for Hilaria,” they continued. Both of them find it annoying that Alec is being reenergized. They were aware that a fresh indictment might be forthcoming. The backtracking is difficult. It’s really demanding.
Alec’s involuntary manslaughter charge was dropped by special prosecutors in April 2023. They said that forensic testing was required since the gun might have been tampered with before the incident and malfunctioned.
But while they awaited the outcome of the weapon’s inspection, the prosecutors intended to re-file the charges in August 2023.
