After her death, Queen Elizabeth II left King Charles with some lessons.

Her Majesty, who began each day with a red box full of tasks to complete, left a unique gift for her son, the Prince of Wales at the time, the contents of which will never be known.

“Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story” author and royal specialist Robert Hardman tells GB News, “The thing that absolutely put the hairs on the back of my neck was when I heard about it was her last red box.” Throughout her entire reign as Queen, a red box had been delivered to her every single day.

“Christmas Day and her birthday were the only days off she was ever given. Apart from that, her red box was always filled with paperwork and other things that needed to be handled. And at the very end, when they opened her final red box, they found a note addressed to the Prince of Wales inside her room following her death. Most likely, we’ll never find out what was in it.”

“You know, all summer there hadn’t really been a government to speak of, so that’s why she was so keen to be on her feet and looking the part in that first photo shoot with that final photograph,” he went on.As a constitutional monarch, her first and foremost responsibility is to make sure the nation is well-governed. She therefore desired to designate Liz Truss and complete that task. And she felt so much better after finishing it; it was a weight off her shoulders.”
