LAHORE: A lion was sent on Tuesday for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif’s Lahore rally; however, it was “returned immediately on Nawaz’s instruction”.
To greet Nawaz Sharif, a tiger and a lion were transported to the camps that were put up in the NA-130 constituency. Many employees were observed snapping selfies with the untamed creatures housed in iron cages. As the party’s election symbol, fans have traditionally brought lions and tigers to PML-N rallies.
On the party supremo’s orders, a “real lion, brought by one of its supporters for the party’s rally, has been returned,” according to PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb.
“No genuine lions or other animals should be brought to any rally in Nawabshah Sharif’s orders.
Nawaz will lead a public gathering in NA-130 on Tuesday night from which he will campaign in the general elections that are scheduled for February 8.
Along with her participation will be PML-N Chief Organizer Maryam Nawaz. The rally will begin at Mohini Road and proceed from Kale Di Puli to Ameer Roor Malik Park.
The rally will travel via Ibrahim Road, Santnagar, Isalampura, Moola Bakhsh Chowk, and Malik Park to Saradar Chapel Chowk.
