Despite the uncertainty surrounding the conduct of the ICC’s Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan due to India’s unwillingness to participate, a lawmaker from across the border has defended Men in Blue’s presence.
According to Tejashwi Yadav, the head of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), politics and sports shouldn’t be combined, and the Indian cricket team should go to Pakistan to play in the ICC Champions Trophy.
In an attempt to poke fun at Narendra Modi of the BJP, the lawmaker brought up the occasion when the Indian prime minister crossed the border “to have biryani”.
“The Indian cricket team should be able to travel for a tournament if the prime minister can go there for biryani.” According to ANI, an Indian news agency.
