SARGODHA: When the Rescue 1122 crew rescued an elderly man who was found unconscious on Khushab Road in the Sargodha district of Punjab, they found a sizeable amount of money—more than Rs0.5 million—in his pocket.
Rescue 1122 said that the old man was carrying Rs 534,000. In addition, he was carrying a passport that proved he had visited Saudi Arabia several times.
District Emergency Officer Mazhar Shah stated in the old news that “residents revealed that the elderly man had been begging in the same area when the rescue team arrived to assist him following an anonymous call.”
The individual did, however, regain his money and other possessions after being released from the hospital, according to the rescue officials.It was discovered in September of last year that individuals from Pakistan were abusing Umrah visas to enter Saudi Arabia and beg.
According to The News, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development informed the Senate Committee on Overseas Pakistanis that a large portion of beggars depart the country using routes used by human traffickers.
The secretary of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis said the Senate panel that 90% of beggars apprehended abroad were Pakistanis, citing information shared with the Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis.
