Due to violations of food safety and hygiene requirements, the raid has resulted in fines totaling over Rs800,000 being issued on various companies.
Director General (DG) of the Sindh Food Authority (SFA), Muzammil Halipoto, stated in an interview with Dawn.com that he had personally visited the facilities to guarantee compliance.
“An oil company was fined a substantial amount of Rs500,000 for violating SFA regulations after a raid in Kotri’s industrial area revealed significant gaps in food safety compliance,” Halipoto stated.
The DG SFA stated that during a regular inspection at the cafeteria of a well-known institution in Jamshoro, the authorities found contaminated milk and inadequate hygienic measures. The violations were therefore instructed to be fixed, and a Rs. 50,000 fine was levied.
