Just after 11:10 p.m., police and paramedics were summoned to the Liver Industrial Estate in Aintree.
After being brought to the hospital, the adolescent was declared dead shortly after.
There’s a murder investigation underway.
In order to assist police in providing the victim’s family with “answers” and in “bringing his killer or killers to justice,” Chief of the investigation Mark Baker requested anyone with information to come forward.
“This was an appalling and tragic incident in which a young man has lost his life, and our thoughts first and foremost are with his family, who are trying to come to terms with his loss,” he said.
Even though this occurred on an industrial estate, there are residential properties close by. As such, I would strongly advise anyone who saw or heard suspicious activity to come forward so that we can provide his family with information and apprehend his killer or killers.
For forensic investigations, there is a police cordon in place near a Taskers furniture shop facility.
Merseyside Police reported that “extensive” house-to-house surveillance investigations are being conducted in the area.
They noted that there are now more high-visibility patrols in the area to “provide reassurance” and that officers are on hand to talk with anyone who has concerns.
