The Table in Hay-on-Wye, Powys, has the painting on display in its window.
Gallery owner Val Harris claims that she has been ordered by the police to remove the picture in accordance with the Public Order Act, but she has refused.
According to Ms. Harris, News, some people’s reactions to the painting were “shocking” and “quite depressing.”
“Under the Public Order Act, the police were called here. They’d received complaints, “said she.
“I don’t feel ready to throw it out the window. We arrived here because I own an art gallery and I help my artists.
Additionally, Poppy [Baynham, the artist] wishes to keep it in the window; I would have supported her decision if she had chosen to relocate it because she was finding it too upsetting.”
The artwork was featured in the gallery’s It’s Party Time display.
At a Thursday afternoon public meeting, which was arranged so that people may ask concerns regarding the artwork, some of the objections were read aloud.
The painting was criticized as “not suitable for children” in one complaint, while another one.
