Police detained a hotel manager in Gurugram City, India, after he allegedly served dry ice disguised as a mouth freshener to a group of diners, according to news
Five customers vomited and had their mouths bleed after swallowing the sugar and spice mix that is customarily served after a meal. Authorities discovered that the packet in issue contained dry ice, a solid form of carbon dioxide that is often used as a cooling agent.
Following the incident, all affected clients were hospitalised. Police detained the manager on allegations of poisoning “with the intent to cause hurt or harm.” Meanwhile, investigators are searching for the food establishment’s owner, who is now escaping arrest.
The event occurred when Ankit Kumar, a resident of Greater Noida, went to the eatery with his wife and friends. After dinner, a server brought them a packet of mouth fresheners.
However, after eating, their tongues began to burn and bleed, and they began vomiting. A video circulating on social media shows the customers screaming in pain, with others seeking to relieve their discomfort by putting ice in their mouths and gulping water.
