FBI Director Kash Patel disclosed on Tuesday that the alleged shooter who is suspected of killing conservative activist Charlie Kirk left behind texts threatening to kill him and was linked to the location by DNA evidence.
Though his motivation is yet unknown, authorities claim that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson acted alone.
Investigators found evidence that Robinson had written a note saying he had the “opportunity to take out Charlie Kirk,” Patel told Fox News. Interviews verified the note’s existence despite its destruction.
Prior to the shooting, the suspect also texted about his plan. Robinson also admitted on Discord, writing: “It was me at UVU yesterday,” according to The Washington Post. Just before his arrest, he said, “I apologize for everything.”
