According to Punjab President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Rana Sanaullah, his party has been able to respond to the concerns raised by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on the proposed Budget 2024–25.
“A meeting was conducted yesterday, and we will call another one on Sunday. PPP legitimately expressed similar concerns about the money for their constituency. The PML-N leader stated, “Our people have the same demands,” on Saturday during the “Naya Pakistan” news program.
The prime minister’s advisor, Sanaullah, claimed that his party’s suggestions from the discussions would take care of every problem and ensure that the budget would now be approved.
Speaking about the complaints about the budget, the prime minister’s adviser on political and public affairs stated that talks happen prior to the budget being presented.
The former interior minister went on to say that concerns continue to surface following the budget’s introduction because the financial plan to the letter does not take into account the opinions of any party. As a result, it is discussed in the Parliament.
In the budget intended to bolster the case for a fresh bailout agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the coalition government led by the PML-N has set a lofty tax revenue target of Rs13 trillion for the year beginning July 1, an almost 40% increase from the current year.
