The Italian Sea Group’s CEO, Giovanni Costantino, told News that the Bayesian superyacht that sank during a storm off the coast of Porticello, Sicily, on Monday was built and designed flawlessly.
On Wednesday, divers discovered five more bodies, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths to six.
The company that constructed the British tech tycoon Mr. Lynch’s Bayesian is also owned by the Italian Sea Group, and Mr. Costantino declared that the boats “are the safest in the most absolute sense.”
He remarked, “Being the Perini boat manufacturer, I am very familiar with how the boats have always been designed and built.
News of the sinking “put me in a state of sadness on one side and of disbelief on the other,” Mr. Costantino added.
Technically and factually, this situation sounds like an incredible scenario, he stated.
It is understood that interviews with the survivors are still being conducted by Italian prosecutors looking into the tragedy.
