The musician Bruce Springsteen announced on social media that his mother, Adele Springsteen, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 98.
The Boss shared the words to his song “The Wish,” which was written in memory of his late mother and honored the sacrifices she made. A video of the artist dancing to swing music with his mother was posted with the message.
With a caption that says, “Adele Springsteen – May 4, 1925-January 31, 2024,”

It went on, “I recall hearing your alarm clock ring in the morning, mom.” As you got ready for work, I could hear your makeup case swishing around the basin while I lay in bed. Although Adele’s cause of death is unknown, Springsteen discussed Adele’s struggle with Alzheimer’s during his July 2021 “Springsteen on Broadway” concert residency.
