The 27-year-old world number one blasted a three-under-par 68 in the last round to finish at 19 under and defeat fellow American Sahith Theegala by four strokes.
Inclement weather delayed play on Sunday’s final round for over two hours before darkness ended play.
With three holes remaining and a five-shot advantage when he returned on Monday, Scheffler completed an easy victory.
He becomes the first player since Germany’s Bernhard Langer in 1985 to win the RBC Heritage after winning the Masters.
Additionally, Scheffler is the first player to win four of his five starts.
