Reportedly, the prime minister was “completely and utterly wrong” to infer that the administration was not acting more forcefully against China.
During his appearance at the Liaison Committee on Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Sunak answered questions from the chairs of the select committees in parliament and supported the government’s position regarding China.
Chair of the Business and Trade Committee Liam Byrne questioned Mr. Sunak, saying that the UK was just “thinking about it” while friends took action on China.
“Our approach to China is undoubtedly more robust than, I’d say, most of our allies, actually,” Mr. Sunak asserted, refuting the accusation that it was incorrect.
