Former prime minister Imran Khan has come under fire from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) for what they claim is his admission that he planned a protest outside the army headquarters.
The development occurred after Khan admitted to having called for a nonviolent protest to be held outside the Pakistan Army’s General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi prior to his arrest as a reaction to the “attack” by law enforcement on his Zaman Park residence. Khan made this admission to journalists on Monday during a hearing for a case held inside Adiala jail.
The PTI founder made a declaration that was picked up by the media, and the party officials responded by stating that Khan had not made the comments and that they were incorrectly attributed to him.In a statement released today, Punjab Chief Minister and leader of the PML-N, Maryam Nawaz, declared that the “mastermind” of the May 9 occurrences has at last admitted to the sin of planning and enabling them.
The PTI, according to Maryam, is an anarchist organization whose sole goal is to undermine the government by mischievous activities. She further said that Khan’s home in Zaman Park acted as a gathering place for terrorists.
“Zaman Park continued to serve as the terrorists’ training base, providing instruction on how to make petrol bombs and launch attacks against the government,” the source stated.
She mentioned that the May 9 disaster was orchestrated amid the “drama of tying the leg in plaster for four months,” alluding to the PTI founder’s accident that resulted in his leg being plastered.
