Three penalty claims were turned down by match officials, leaving Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo furious following the team’s 2-0 loss against Everton at Goodison Park.
Shortly after the match concluded, the team declared that Stuart Attwell, the virtual assistant referee (VAR), was “a Luton fan” and that Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) had not taken any action in response to their concerns.
“Three extremely poor decisions – three penalties not given – which we simply cannot accept,” the club posted on Twitter.
“Before the game, we informed the PGMOL that the VAR supports Luton, but they chose not to replace him.
Our endurance has been put to the limit several times. NFFC shall now evaluate its options.
