Aleem is a three-time winner of the ICC Umpire of the Year award, having been a true gentleman both on and off the field (2009-2011).
Aleem, 56, also had a successful playing career, participating in 17 first-class and 18 List-A games between 1986 and 1998. In 1998, he made his first-class umpiring debut in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
He was a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires from 2003 to 2023, during which time he developed a stellar reputation for his ability to handle players, comprehend playing circumstances, maintain composure, and make excellent decisions.
He is qualified to officiate in ODIs and T20Is since he is a member of the PCB’s Elite Panel and one of only four Pakistani umpires on the ICC’s International Panel.
