WASHINGTON: Utah’s governor confirmed Sunday that the man detained in connection with the assassination of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk had “leftist ideology” and was romantically involved with a transgender roommate. The information is expected to fuel the divisive national discussion around the murder.
When asked about suspect Tyler Robinson’s alleged relationship with a trans partner, Governor Spencer Cox responded, “Yes, I can confirm that,” on CNN’s “State of the Union” discussion show.
“The roommate was a romantic partner, a male transitioning to a female,” Cox explained.
“This partner has been incredibly cooperative, had no idea that this was happening, and is working with investigators right now,” he stated.
