That amounted to precisely 2,000 pupils who lacked proficiency. Things worsen. Just one or two pupils in twenty more schools were proficient in arithmetic at the grade level. Furthermore, not a single Baltimore high school student received a 4, the best possible score.
It may be old news, but the truth is not. You would be mistaken to believe that this is a problem that solely impacts particular American demographics or specific neighborhoods. Baltimore is only the worst-case scenario for this, which is the future of America.

I’ve been considering this Baltimore scenario lately since it demonstrates the disarray that our society has descended into. Most of the news articles that I read showed citizens condemning the city, the local and state governments, and the education. They have every right to. However, shouldn’t they be placing the blame on themselves?

I say this because we are not getting anywhere with all of this blaming. Government representatives and educators are merely indifferent. They can see the issues in front of them, but very few of them take the required.
