Among well-known players, the organizers selected former Pakistan captain and flashy all-rounder Shahid Afridi to serve as an ambassador for the highly anticipated international competition as the countdown to the thrilling ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 got underway.
Alongside Usain Bolt, the fastest man on Earth, Yuvraj Singh of India, and Chris Gayle, dubbed the “Universe Boss,” he serves as an ambassador for the major event.
Afridi was instrumental in Pakistan’s 2007 journey to the final and guided them to the 2009 T20 World Cup championship.
“The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup holds great significance for me,” Afridi remarked. Some of my favorite career milestones include winning the trophy in 2009 and being named Player of the Tournament in the first edition.
