Overnight, a Flydubai aircraft carrying two Israeli nationals on its way to Sri Lanka made an emergency landing in Karachi, Pakistan. The Civil Aviation Authority, meanwhile, has denied any knowledge of the Israeli individuals’ presence on Pakistani territory.
Even though Pakistan and Israel don’t have diplomatic ties, the incident nonetheless happened.
According to Times of Israel, the Israeli Foreign Ministry verified the occurrence and said they collaborated with pertinent parties to guarantee the safety of the Israeli passengers.
Soon after the emergency landing, the flight continued to Sri Lanka, with the Israelis still on board.
Pakistan opposes Israel, and as a result of its diplomatic backing for Palestine, passports issued to its inhabitants are not recognized by Israel.
