This season, the 23-year-old is playing for news in all competitions and has 10 goals and seven assists.
Due to his grandparents’ eligibility, Scotland had expressed interest in hiring him.
They were rumored to be targeting Gordon after he was left out of the last England team.
At the time, Gordon was “very close” to being selected, according to Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate.
“It was never a thought for me – that’s no disrespect to Scotland at all.” Gordon replied.
Since I was five or six years old, I’ve had tunnel vision of playing for England, and nothing has ever been able to dispel it.
With so many talented players in England’s attacking ranks, Gordon will have competition from players like Phil Foden, Marcus Rashford, Cole Palmer, Jarrod Bowen, and Bukayo Saka for a spot.
Gordon, nevertheless, believes that his call-up has coincided with a perfect opportunity for him to establish himself in Southgate’s squad ahead of this summer’s European Championships in Germany. Gordon won the Under-21 European Championships with England last summer.
“I don’t think I have ever been as consistent in my career so far,” he stated.
“You won’t be able to join this squad if you aren’t doing it. I’m grateful for that since it allows me to present a positive picture of myself.
