Anthropic, the AI startup behind the Claude chatbot, is planning a multi-billion-dollar funding round that could value the company at $350 billion, according to sources cited by Baner Club. This nearly doubles its valuation from four months ago.
Funding Plans and Key Investors
The company aims to raise $10 billion, with Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, GIC, and Coatue Management expected to lead the round, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Anthropic is backed by Alphabet’s Google and Amazon, but the company declined to comment on the new round.
Rising AI Demand Drives Valuations
Growing enterprise adoption of AI and increased global tech spending have driven valuations for startups like Anthropic to record levels, even as some analysts warn of an AI bubble.
Last September, Anthropic raised $13 billion in a Series F round that valued it at $183 billion. It has also engaged law firm Wilson Sonsini to prepare for a potential IPO, which could happen as early as 2026.
Claude Models and Enterprise Growth
Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, Anthropic’s Claude models have gained recognition among developers, especially for coding applications. The company reportedly aims to more than double, and possibly nearly triple, its annualized revenue run rate this year through growing enterprise adoption.
Anthropic has not yet decided on the timing or details of a public offering.
