Although the iPhone Air will not be available in China at launch due to a delay in regulatory permission for its embedded SIM (eSIM), Apple’s next iPhone 17 series is set for delivery in most countries on September 19.
All three of China’s state-owned mobile network providers, China Mobile, China Telecom, and China Unicom, will support eSIM for the iPhone Air, according to Apple’s website. The device’s availability is still pending formal approval, though.
Pre-orders for the remaining iPhone 17 versions are scheduled to open on Friday, according to TechCrunch.
According to the South China Morning Post, Apple stated that it was collaborating with the appropriate authorities to bring the iPhone Air to China.
