Rumors of a romance between Paul Mescal and Ayo Edebiri have come to nothing.
Following reports of a relationship between the Irish actor and the 28-year-old actress, a source has revealed new facts.
On St. Patrick’s Day, Ayo posted an Instagram story that sparked suspicion.
In her post, she and Paul are seen laughing as they sit close together on a staircase, with the Bear star’s hand wrapped around his shoulder.
“Happy St Paddy’s,” Ayo wrote in the caption.
An insider now tells PEOPLE that people misinterpreted the image because the two actors are “just friends.”
However, in a November 2023 interview, Paul stated that he would like to work on a rom-com with Ayo.
