KARACHI: Hours after leaving the President at the end of his tenure, Dr Arif Alvi stated that he is prepared to face legal processes under Article 6 of the Constitution.
Demands for a high treason case against Alvi under Article 6 for alleged constitutional violations have been made on several occasions, including the dissolution of the National Assembly on the advice of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding chairman Imran Khan, who was then prime minister; and the recent failure to convene the first session of the upper house of parliament following the general election in 2024.
Arif Alvi declares he is prepared to face Article 6 proceedings shortly after stepping down as president.
Former president insists he "stood fast on accountability and democratic values"
