Barrister Arsalan Islam Shaikh, the spokeswoman for the Sindh government and the mayor of Sukkur, declared on Friday that Arshad Nadeem would receive a gold crown in response to the people of Sukkur’s expressed demand.
He also mentioned that a new sports stadium in Sukkur, which is now under development, will bear Nadeem’s name in honor of his outstanding accomplishment.
Last night, the 27-year-old javelin thrower made history in Pakistan by becoming the country’s first-ever individual athlete to win an Olympic gold medal.
