Faisal Karim Kundi, the recently appointed governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, took the oath of office on Saturday during a ceremony held at Governor House in Peshawar.
The newly appointed governor was sworn in by Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim of the Peshawar High Court. PPP members attended the ceremony along with the KP secretary and other officials.
Kundi, Sardar Saleem Haider, and Jaffar Khan Mandokhail were appointed as governors of KP, Punjab, and Balochistan, respectively, earlier in the day by President Asif Ali Zardari.
Kundi pledges to eradicate terrorism and KP’s financial crisis.
Speaking with the media shortly after taking the oath, Kundi promised to put an end to financial crises and terrorism throughout the province, including the now-KP portion of previous federally managed districts. He conveyed optimism for KP’s success.
