On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his happiness with the slowdown in price increases, which now stand at the lowest 6.9% in the last 44 months when compared to triple digits.
The prime minister praised the government’s economic team for containing headline inflation, which as of September 2024 was 6.9% annually.
According to a statement from the PM Office Media Wing, the price increase fell precipitously in August of this year, hitting a single digit 9.6% for the first time in the previous 34 months.
This year’s September Consumer Price Index (CPI) report held its lowest point, marking the lowest point in the previous 44 months for the spiraling inflation.
