Asif Ali Zardari, Co-Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is expected to win the presidential election after receiving 345 electoral votes, according to Geo News, citing sources on Tuesday.
The PPP, which allied with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) during the 2024 national elections, secured 345 electoral votes for its nominee Zardari ahead of the March 9 presidential election, according to reports.
The committee members created for the presidential campaign informed PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari of the achievement during a briefing session prior to the contest for the coveted seat.
In the forthcoming election event, Zardari will face Mahmood Khan Achakzai, chairman of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP).
